Boatyard 1 – Sunday 3rd October 2021

Dave Dearman wins 1st Match at Boatyard with 6lb 13oz

17 anglers arrived at the boatyard in Stalham to fish the first match of the winter season this Sunday. The pegging was all towards the “river” end of the basins (with some pegs on the river along goose green) and it was hoped that some skimmers would feature in the catches. Well they did but not in quite the numbers or sizes that were hoped for! Dave Dearman was on peg 25 on the river near the big basin and had 6lb 13oz of small fish for 1st place this week. He was followed by John Higginson on peg 4 in the Crane who had skimmers up to 4oz in his 6lb 1oz net for 2nd and then it was Mike Dossena with skimmers and roach on peg 2 weighing 5lb 10z for 3rd .

Elsewhere Mark Charlwood won his section from peg 17 in the Gate Basin with 5lb 1oz and Denny Hammond and Dave Edgerton shared their section prize as they both weighed 3lb 1oz.

So not a high weight start but no blanks either! – we can only see if things improve over the coming weeks.

Next week is the David King Bowl …………………See you there
