Boatyard 9 Sunday 26th November 2017 Singles KO 2nd Round

Dave Dearman’s Winning Peg this week Lucky No. 7. Note the new piling and the fish obviously love it!

Almost identical conditions to last week welcomed the field of 23 anglers taking part in this weeks match, with bright sun, a hard frost and a strengthening north westerly wind swirling around the yards. Also like last week the fishing was hard and the weights well down and 6 blanks were recorded. Mind you for some pegs it was business as usual and Dave Dearman caught from the start on his peg at the bottom right of the Crane Basin to put 9lb 14oz on the scales for 1st place this week. He was over 2lb clear of Dave Edgerton who had 7lb 8oz from his peg just up the right side of the Gate Basin to secure his second 2nd place on the bounce. He was closely followed by Denny Hammond who had 7lb from the right hand end of the Gate for 3rd place. But then, apart form Mike Dossena’s 6lb 10z bag, the weights tumbled to 3lb 8oz and below with many sub 2lbs right down to me with 2oz!! Lets hope for a change in the weather or if not a change some continuity of the cold so maybe the fish will settle and things may improve – I did say maybe. No picture of the winner this week (sorry Dave you had gone by the time I had remembered) still we have a nice pic of the winning peg, which let’s face it was a bit of a surprise when you see all the work that has been going on in it!  Keep your fingers crossed for something better next week …….See you there….
