Railway – Sunday 28th July 2019

Mr Charlwood 1st place this week and look – picks up paper money not shrapnel!! No wonder he’s smiling

The venue this week was Railway Lake on The Barford complex
14 members made the long trip this week. The weather was a little bit wet but still ok for fishing as it was only light rain. With the extremely hot weather during the week and the sudden change for the weekend people were expecting fishing to be rather hard. And it was definitely hard this week.
Mark Charlwood made the most from his end peg to take the first place. He fished peg 28 and caught across for the total weight of 41lb. Well done!
Second place goes to the inform Dave Agass who was fishing peg 4 and weighed 37lb so that’s three frames on the trot. Well done!
Third place goes to Mark Seaman. He was fishing peg 26 and weighed 28lb 8oz. Everybody else struggled for bites and some had to wait until 2 o’clock for a bite. And some didn’t even get that. Roll on next week.

Melton Pond 4 – Sunday 21st July 2019

Not sure what’s occurring here!? looks like a bit of celebrating for 1st and 2nd

18 members made the trip this week which was another really good turn out. The weather was very warm again with just a little bit of wind and as always everybody was looking forward to a good day’s fishing. With the draw done it was time to fish. Unfortunately, the fish didn’t want to be caught today in most areas. As normal the top weights were very good but the backup weights were rather poor for this time of the year.

Once again it was Mark Seaman coming out on top with a total weight of 61lb 8oz. Mark was fishing peg 15.

Second place goes to Alex (The Bandit) Watson. He was fishing peg 1 and weighed 59lb 4oz.

Third place for the second week running was Dave Agass. He was on peg 2 and weighed 52 lb 11oz.

Shallowbrook lakes was the venue for this week’s match

The weather was overcast with the odd glimpse of sunshine and everyone was hoping for the good day’s fishing.
We were all fishing on the far side of the Meadow lake because of the bivvy boys.
This was the first trip to this venue for some of us so there was a lot of talk at the start about what was what and how to fish.
Mark Harmer drew peg 14 which was lucky for him being the end peg. Mark caught some small skimmers on the feeder to start but decided to fish down his edge and he found to his surprise there were some carp waiting there already. Mark run out the winner weighing 58lb 4oz.
Second place goes to Mark Seaman who was fishing peg 10 and caught carp on the pellet waggler and weighed 35lb 10oz.

Mark Harmer wins this week at Cobbleacre

Cobbleacre was this week’s venue
The weather was going to be fantastic so all of the guys were expecting to enjoy a nice day fishing.
13 members turned up which was a little bit low ( but you know it was Cobbleacre )
With Dave Agass nicely recovering at home from his surgery (Speedy recovery!) , he handed over the responsibility of running the match to Mark Harmer who did his best to make everything go smoothly.
Strangely this week’s winner was Mark Harmer who pulled peg 1 out and won comfortably with 38lb 4oz
Second place fishing peg 6 was Mark Seaman who weighed 20lb exactly.
Fishing peg 5 was Mark Charlwood who weighed 16lb 10oz and was the third today. ( sorry about the overhanging branches, Mark)
